Write your playbook
How to write the strategy your agent reads before every decision, with sections, data mentions and drafting help.
The playbook is your strategy in plain words. Your agent reads it, together with the data you connect, before every decision. Write it the way you would explain the strategy to another trader.

Structure it with sections
Type / in the editor to add a section. Clear sections make the agent's decisions more consistent.

| Section | Command | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| What it trades and why | /what | The markets and the idea behind the trade. |
| When it enters | /enter | The conditions that open a position. |
| When it exits or cuts a loss | /exit | What closes it: the idea is wrong, the move is done, or time is up. |
| When it waits | /wait | When it does nothing: a quiet market, mixed signals. |
| Technical chart analysis | /chart | The timeframes, indicators and conditions it checks with its tools. |
Type /example to start from an example playbook, such as a trend or mean-reversion strategy.
Name the data it reads
Type @ to name data or tools, for example @market.charts, @cmc.fear_greed or @openmarket.tools. Each name shows as a chip with the app's logo. Hover a chip to see what it measures, which markets it covers and how fresh it is.
- Naming a data point adds it to your template.
- If the playbook names data this venue cannot read, Next stays blocked and the reason shows.
- Data you added but never name shows as unused. It still costs a read on every check-in, so remove it.
See Data and tools for what each source provides.
Rules
- Length: 8 to 4,000 characters. The counter shows how many you have used.
- No links, wallet addresses or instructions to move funds. They are not allowed, and the agent cannot act on them anyway.
- No role-play instructions such as "you are…". Describe the strategy, not the agent.
- Be exact about markets. Name the market the way the venue lists it, or the bare coin. A tool read for a market the venue does not list fails, and the agent skips the trade.
Draft or improve with Opus
When it is on for your account, an Opus button sits in the editor:
- Draft with Opus (empty playbook): describe the strategy in a few lines and Opus writes a structured playbook, with every risk value it depends on.
- Improve with Opus (existing playbook): Opus proposes a clearer playbook plus settings, market and data changes, flagged by risk, gap or info.
You review the before and after, then select Apply. Nothing changes until you do. Each account has a daily limit (the editor shows how many runs are left today), and failed runs count.
